Chemical Peels in Boston, MA
Exfoliating the skin is one of the most effective ways to remove flaws on the surface of the skin, such as brown spots, fine lines and irregular skin tone. Aspire Medical Spa offers chemical peels for men and women in Boston, Lexington and surrounding areas of Massachusetts. All of our procedures are performed by the medical staff of a Harvard-trained, board-certified plastic surgeon.
What are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are special solutions that penetrate the skin to specific depths. The process removes damaged skin cells and stimulates new cell generation. We use SkinMedica® Vitalize Peel® and Rejuvenize Peel™. Both products are designed to improve the health of your skin so you enjoy the real results you deserve.
What are the Benefits of Chemical Peels?
As a leader in professional skin care treatments, SkinMedica® formulates products that address signs of aging and damage caused by sun exposure. The chemical peels we use help with visible problems that make your skin look aged and tired.
How Do Chemical Peels Work?
Chemical peels contain many of the same ingredients found in consumer products, yet the higher concentrations are clinically proven to improve the skin far better than what you can use at home. Your medical aesthetician chooses the SkinMedica® peel best for your skin and your desired results.
Am I a Good Candidate for Chemical Peels?
We recommend SkinMedica® Vitalize Peel® for men and women who have mild or moderate flaws, such as uneven skin tone, fine lines, rough texture and wrinkles. The Rejuvenize Peel™ treats more advanced issues, such as acne scars and areas of irregular pigmentation.
What Should I Expect from a Chemical Peel?
You should expect the appointment to take less than one hour, and the chemical peel takes about 20 minutes. After we apply the chemical solution, you may experience some mild tingling or warming of the skin indicating the peel is working to remove damaged skin cells.
For the first few hours after the treatment, your skin may have a yellowish color, as well as some redness. The Rejuvenize Peel™ does produce some flaking or peeling of the skin.
You can keep your skin looking refreshed by repeating a Vitalize Peel® every three to four weeks or a Rejuvenize Peel™ every four to six weeks.
We may recommend that patients with darker skin have a Vitalize Peel® before the Rejuvenize Peel™.
