What is Microneedling?

Microneedling uses minimally invasive microneedles paired with bi-polar RF (radiofrequency) energy to facilitate effective, non-surgical, skin tightening with little to no downtime. Microneedling helps remodel and stimulate collagen production for many other skin benefits, such as enhancing uneven skin tone, reducing stretch marks, and eliminating acne scars.

How Does Microneedling Work?

RF microneedling works by use of specially tuned devices that insert an array of very small needles into the skin at a specific depth. Bipolar RF energy is then applied from the microneedles, generating heat deep within the skin layers to stimulate collagen and elastin production. This is also called collagen induction therapy in general. The result from microneedling is a firmer, smoother, and more even skin surface.

What Areas can be Treated with Microneedling?

Microneedling is suitable for use on any areas of the face and body that could benefit from skin tightening and rejuvenation. Microneedling is also an excellent choice for improving acne scarring.

What Areas can be Treated with Microneedling?

Many patients report a slightly uncomfortable yet tolerable experience, and a sensation of heat when the RF energy is applied. To make treatment as comfortable as possible for our Lexington Microneedling patient, a topical numbing cream will be applied before treatment, and we also offer Pro-Nox, an analgesic delivery system to ease pain and anxiety during treatment.
