What is PRP?

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) harnesses the power of growth factors found in the plasma of your own blood. PRP can be combined with other procedures, such as RF Microneedling to further enhance and stimulate collagen production for 7 to 10 days post treatment.

How Do PRP Injections Work?

A small amount of blood is drawn, typically from the arm, into vials. This collected blood is then spun in a centrifuge, separating the platelets from the red blood cells. When injected or applied topically after microneedling, the powerful concentration of growth factors in the PRP portion of the blood promotes rapid healing and has remarkable rejuvenation benefits.

What Areas can be Treated with PRP?

PRP is a great compliment to anti-aging procedures like microneedling and can be used on any area of the body, either topically or injected. The most common uses for PRP is for facial rejuvenation or hair restoration of the scalp. See our PRP Hair Restoration page for more information.

What do PRP Treatments Feel Like?

Treatment with PRP is very tolerable. Like all injection procedures, our Lexington PRP injection patients may have some temporary discomfort during the blood draw and subsequent injections. But to make your experience as comfortable as possible we offer Pro-Nox, an analgesic delivery system to ease pain and anxiety during treatment.

PRP Safety & Recovery

As PRP is derived from one’s own blood, it is very safe for use and does not cause allergic reactions.

If you are having PRP injected, you may have some redness and bruising immediately following the treatment. This typically resolves quickly.

What’s Unique About PRP at Aspire Med Spa

Advanced Technology!

Aspire Med Spa uses the Selphyl® Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) System for the safe and rapid preparation of Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM). Many PRP systems have varying results and extensive contamination with red blood cells and white blood cells. Selphyl removes virtually all contaminating cells and PRP is converted to PRFM through a controlled process. This preparation maintains the platelets at the site of injection so their release of growth factors can be sustained over a longer period of time than traditional PRP systems, giving you powerful results. Think of Selphyl PRFM as the next generation PRP.

Unparalleled training!

Aspire Med Spa’s highly trained technicians have all undergone extensive and continued educational training with our own internal world-class credentialing. At Aspire Med Spa we strive to provide the best PRP injections Lexington has to offer.
