What is Xeomin?
Xeomin is a neuromodulator (similar to Botox or Dysport), that softens dynamic wrinkles on the face caused by muscle contractions. The most commonly treated dynamic wrinkles are across the forehead, at the corners of the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the brows (frown lines).
How Does Xeomin Work?
When expertly injected, Xeomin blocks the release of chemicals that cause muscles to contract and form wrinkles when making certain facial expressions, such as frowning. Keep in mind that this means that Xeomin will not improve the appearance of static wrinkles caused by sun damage or collagen loss commonly associated with aging. These wrinkles, such as nasolabial lines or fine lines throughout the face, can often be improved with other injectable formulas, just not Xeomin.
What Areas Can be Treated With Xeomin? And What do Treatments Feel Like?
Xeomin can be used to treat wrinkles across the forehead, corners of the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the brows. It can also be used to sharpen the jawline, correct a gummy smile, or provide lift and shape to the eyebrows.
Xeomin can also be used to treat hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, wherever it occurs. The most common area for this treatment is the underarms, but the palms, feet, and any other area can also benefit from Xeomin.
Xeomin treatments are both quick and tolerable. Using a very fine needle, your Lexington Xeomin Injector will target the muscles that are causing the wrinkles you would like to correct with each injection site. Beyond the slight pinch of the needle, most patients find Xeomin treatments virtually painless. Results from Xeomin typically last 3 to 4 months.

Xeomin Safety And Recovery
Xeomin has an excellent safety profile, and just like Botox and Dysport, is FDA approved to smooth and diminish the appearance of wrinkles.
You may have some pinpoint bleeding or slight swelling at the injection sites immediately post-treatment. This usually resolves within minutes, and you can return to your day-to-day activities right away. Like all neuromodulator products, you should avoid laying down for 4-6 hours following injections. You should also avoid exercising, wearing hats or headbands, and massaging for the first day after treatment for the best results.
At Aspire Med Spa, we strive to provide the best Xeomin Lexington has to offer. If you have more severe or long-lasting side effects, don’t hesitate to call our office to get help right away.
Post-Care Instructions
You will see your full results from neurotoxin treatments within two weeks of your treatment. Some people (10%) will see no results and simply not respond to the treatment for unknown reasons. Results commonly last at least 2 to up to 6 months.
We ask patients getting Xeomin to “exercise” the muscles in which they were injected for about an hour to help the formula look as natural as possible as it takes effect. If you experience swelling, bruising, or pain in the treatment area, you may apply ice packs, arnica, or other anti-inflammatory compounds you might have.
Side Effects and Less Common Complications
Side effects associated with Xeomin injections include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, or bleeding/bruising. Less common reactions may include nausea, fatigue, flu-like symptoms, headache, excessive weakness of the treated muscles, temporary eyelid drooping, temporary brow drooping.
