What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are gel-like substances that restore lost volume to the face, plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases, remove wrinkles and improve the appearance of recessed scars.

Aspire Med Spa offers the Juvederm Collection of Fillers, which have been formulated to target specific areas where volume loss has occurred. Your Dermal Fillers Injector will discuss the goals you would like to achieve with your dermal treatment, and determine which Juvederm filler, or a combination of, will meet your specific needs.

Our Fillers:

  • Juvederm XC
  • Juvederm Ultra XC
  • Juvederm VOLUMA XC
  • Juvederm VOLLURE XC
  • Juvederm VOLBELLA XC
  • Revanesse
  • Galderma
  • Revance
  • Merz

How Do Dermal Fillers Work?

Our Dermal Fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance found in the body that hydrates, plumps, and firms the skin by binding with nearby water molecules. When injected below the the surface of the skin, fillers work by padding in the space beneath a wrinkle, crease, or area of volume loss. This pushes the skin back upwards to correct the flaw.

Dermal Fillers work synergistically with many of our other procedures, including BotoxXeominLaser Skin Resurfacing, and Microneedling, for powerful rejuvenation results.

What Areas Can be Treated With Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are a popular choice for plumping the lips and restoring lost volume to the cheeks and under eye area. Wrinkles associated with aging, such as smile lines, laugh lines, marionette lines, parentheses lines, and barcode or ‘smokers’ lines around the lips can also be treated successfully with filler.

Your comfort during your Dermal Filler treatment is paramount to us. Our Juvederm fillers contain a numbing agent in their formula called lidocaine. At Aspire Med Spa, our Lexington Dermal Fillers patients may find that the first few injections sting slightly, but once the effects of the lidocaine kicks in, treatment is comfortable and tolerable. If you are concerned about pain during treatment, please let your injector know as we offer Pro-Nox, an analgesic delivery system, designed to ease pain and anxiety during treatment. At Aspire Med Spa we offer a variety of treatments, schedule a consultation today and find out which procedure is the best one for you!

Dermal Fillers Safety And Recovery

Because Juvederm is made from Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance found in the body, there is no need for allergy testing before treatment, making it very safe for use. If you have a history of allergies to lidocaine, please let your injector know prior to treatment.

Our highly experienced injectors are also trained in best safety and treatment practices, so you can trust that your Dermal Filler at Aspire is not only safe, but will also yield fabulous results. There is minimal recovery after Dermal Filler Treatment. You may have some slight bruising, swelling, tenderness or firmness in the treated area. This typically resolves quickly, in 7 days or less and is often easily concealed with makeup. At Aspire Med Spa, we strive to provide the best Dermal Fillers Lexington has to offer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wear makeup after Juvederm?

Yes, just be careful not to apply too much pressure to your treatment area. Your face will need to be cleaned and free of all makeup prior to your Juvederm appointment.

Can juvederm be reversed?

Yes, in case of negative side effects or simply an unsatisfying outcome, Juvederm injections can be reversed with a compound called hyaluronidase.

Does Juvederm work immediately?

Essentially, yes, Juvederm immediately and physically adds volume to the treated area. However, these results will appear more natural as the body adjusts to the formula over the course of about a week or more.

Can Volbella be used under eyes?

Yes! Volbella is probably best known for its ability to improve the lips and lines around the mouth, but is also approved for volumizing the under-eye area.

Does Volbella last longer than Juvederm?

The length of time your Juvederm injections last is more dependent on the area injected and your personal metabolic rate. Usually, dermal fillers in the lips dont last as long as in areas with less muscle movement.

Does Volbella work right away?

Yes, Volbella and other hyaluronic acid fillers instantly fill in volume, although the most natural-looking, long-lasting results dont appear for a few days at least.

Can Sculptra and Voluma be used together?

The specific dermal fillers that are right for your areas of concern can vary - however, its possible to enjoy the benefits of more than one formula at a time in patients who can benefit from both Sculptra and Voluma.

Can Voluma be used under eyes?

Theoretically, Juvederm Voluma could be used to enhance hollowed eyes and other concerns in that area, however, there are more likely other formulas that offer better results for most people.

Can you exercise after juvederm Voluma?

You should avoid strenuous activity for at least 24 hours after Juvederm injections of any formula.

Does Vollure stimulate collagen?

No, hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm Vollure do not naturally stimulate collagen production on their own.

How long does it take for Vollure to settle?

You will likely see long-lasting, natural-looking results after a few days of settling following your Juvederm appointment.

How long does Juvederm Vollure last?

Depending on your personal metabolism, Vollure can last up to 18 months for some facial folds and wrinkles.

Can you sleep on your face after fillers?

You are free to sleep as normal, although putting too much pressure on your treatment area can affect your long-term results.

Do lip fillers last longer the second time?

There should be little difference in how long your lip filler, like Juvederm Ultra XC, lasts from one appointment to another, assuming the same area is treated in a similar manner with a similar amount of formula.

Does juvederm look natural?

Yes, by the time your Juvederm formula is naturally integrated with your skin, the results will be nearly imperceptible.
